Additional Short-Term Rental Resources

While we seek to provide as many short-term options as possible for interns, we know some markets that will be challenging.  Below are various resources available to help you find affordable and convenient accommodations.

University Housing Offices and Networks

Check with a campus housing office in the city you’ll be interning for information about subletting or recommended accommodations. Additionally, check resources where students may be subletting their apartment for the summer.
  • Internhousinghub.com – While this site doesn’t have options in every city, it is continually updated, so worth checking back.
  • Sublet.com – A website specializing in short-term leases.
  • Uloop.com – short term listings, searchable by university.
  • Rentcollegepads.com – contains a section for subleases.
  • University-Affiliated Listings – Some universities compile lists of off-campus housing available for short-term stays.
  • Apartment Sublets – In larger cities, a great resource is finding local students who sublet their apartments while they are away for their own summer internships.

Online Housing Marketplaces

These platforms offer furnished short-term rentals that may be suitable for internships: Please note – we do not recommend searching on Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist – especially if you’re not familiar with the area. Each site has potential to contain scam listings.

 Budget Considerations & Tips

  • Start Early – The earlier you search, the more options you’ll have.
  • Set a Budget – Factor in utilities, internet, and commuting costs.
  • Negotiate – Landlords or renters may offer discounts for extended stays.
  • Read Reviews & Verify Listings – Ensure safety and legitimacy before making payments.
